Job Description
The Accounts Payable Representative provides support for the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable. Duties include data entry, data verification and calculations, and check issuance. This position is responsible for processing invoices and preparing vendor and patient refund check runs based on department policies and procedures. The Representative provides assistance to employees, vendors and other customers. The Accounting Representative identifies system issues and ideas for improvement.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years prior accounting experience required, preferably with exposure to Accounts Payable. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the technical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury.
This position requires desk, computer and calculator work a majority of the time. Some standing and walking and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to Director Corporate Expenditures. This position reports to the Accounting Manager at the Health Plans/AAI business.
