Has undergone 4 months training of Dissertation Project at the Pulse Improvement Section, Nuclear Agriculture and Biotechnology Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, on the research topic titled, “Screening for drought tolerant genotypes in chickpea (Cicer arietinum) using biochemical and molecular approaches”.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Plant tissue culture techniques : Preparation of media, sterilization of explant, inoculation, subculturing and maintenance of explants.
Animal tissue culture techniques : Trypsinization.
Microbial techniques : Media preparation, plating, staining of organism.
Molecular techniques : PAGE, SDS- PAGE, AGE, Isolation of DNA.
Chromatographic techniques : Paper chromatography, TLC.
INSTRUMENTATION HANDLED:
Gel Doc, PCR machines, UV Spectrophotometers, Colorimeters, Incubators, Centrifuges, Ultra centrifuges, Autoclave, Growth chamber.
ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE:
- Participated in the National Symposium on Stem Cell and Regenartion Medicine at National Burns Centre.
- Participated in 2 workshops on “Biotechnology in Diagnostics” conducted by the department of Biotechnology and Microbiology, B.N. Bandodkar College of Science, Thane in 2011.
- Participated in the Fortis Walkathon at Fortis Cancer Institute.
- Participated in National Conference on “BIOTECHNOLOGY IN DIAGNOSTICS “organized by the Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology, N. Bandodkar College of Science, Thane held on 6th and 7th January in 2011
