Project title : Investigations on micropropagation, antimicrobial properties and phytochemical status of medicinal plant (Plectranthus vettiveroides)
Project summary : The major challenge for the horticulturists in the propagation of medicinal plants is its resistance to conventional propagation method due to various reasons. In case of Plectranthus vettiveroides problems in conventional method of propagation are dormancy in summer season , sensitivity to high temperature and over watering often leads to death of plant. Hence an attempt was carried out to standardize a viable protocol for the invitro propagation as well as to investigate its antimicrobial properties in the Dept. Of Biotechnology, REVA Institute of Science and Management, Bangalore.
