ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION:

  • Completed Master of Technology in biotechnology from Karunya University on April, 2011 with a CGPA of 8.24.
  • Completed Bachelors of Technology in Biotechnology in 2005 from Sathyabama University, India with a percentage of 79.6.
  • Completed diploma in Nutrition and Health Education in 2010 from Indira Gandhi National Open Univeristy, India with a percentage of 75.
  • Completed 12th (CBSE board) from Ideal Indian School, Doha with a percentage of 69.
  • Completed 10th (CBSE board) from Ideal Indian School, Doha with a percentage of 79.

AREAS OF INTEREST:

            Teaching, Research & Analysis, in the fields of Genetic engineering, Plant molecular biology, Downstream Processing and Bioprocess Engineering.

 

PROJECT DONE:

  • Standardization of prokaryotic expression profile of CDPK gene from Zingiber officinale . Rosc .,in Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Trivandrum, Kerala, India.
  • Survey of prevalence and awareness of Diabetes mellitus in urban and rural areas of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, in Karunya University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
  • Antioxidant activity, phenol and flavonoid contents of medicinal plant extracts that control microbial borne infection and wound healing, in Karunya University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
  • Validation of molecular markers linked to Chilli veinal mottle virus(ChVMV) and Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) resistance genes in Chilli (Capsicum annuum.L), in Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bangalore, Karnataka.

ATTENDED TRAINING PROGRAMME:

  • Underwent about 10days training in Molecular Biology Department, with Hamad Medical Corporation, Doha, Qatar.
  • Attended a workshop on Biochemical Engineering (WBCE-09) organized by Department of Biotechonology, Karunya University, Coimbatore.
  • Participated in Hands on training in HPLC organized by the Department of Biotechnology, Karunya University, Coimbatore.
  • Participated in a National Level Technical Symposium “Evogen 2k10”, organized by the Department of Biotechnology, Karunya University, Coimbatore.
  • Participated in a 3 days Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp which was sponsored by DST and NIMAT, organized by Department of Biotechnology, Karunya University, Coimbatore.
  • Participated in One day training program on Entrepreneurship in Vermicomposting in the Department of Biotechnology, at Karunya University, Coimbatore.
  • Attended a National conference on Herbal Medicine held in the department of Botany, School of Life Sciences, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.

 

ACHIEVEMENTS:

  • Presented a poster titled “Nanobiotechnological Nano noses” in International Conference on “Synthesis, characterization consolidation and modelling of nanomaterials”(ICON-2010), by  the Department of Metallurgical Engineering, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore.
  • Participated in the Debate on BT Brinjal- Pros and Cons held in the department of Biotechnology on 12th February 2010, at Karunya University, Coimbatore.
  • Presented a paper titled “Biodiversity of medicinal plants in Karunya University” in International Conference on ” Bioresource Technology- Its Applications and Achievements ”( ICBRT- 2010), by the Department of Botany, Nirmala College for Women, Coimbatore.
