  • Conducted research and planning activities for Webb County recreational and environmental projects
    • Updated Webb County Recreational Plan for years 2005-2010
    • Organized and conducted ecological survey of County School Lands to evaluate potential for ecotourism; prepared comprehensive report
    • Worked with Commissioner Jerry Garza’s office to clean and fence Webb County’s approximately 37-acre tract in Colonia La Presa and evaluate habitat for ecotourism

Environmental Enforcement

  • Performed administrative duties in the day to day operations of the Webb County Attorney’s Environmental Division
    • Created and maintained database of environmental cases, including referrals from           Planning Department involving permit violations
    • Maintained and reviewed files of environmental cases, including referrals from Planning Department involving permit violations
    • Prepared weekly reports of Division activities
    • Identified and ordered equipment for investigators
    • Acted as liaison between Webb County Attorney’s Office and community environmental organizations and advocates
    • Represented Webb County Attorney’s Office at meetings of Webb County Planning Advisory Board
    • Served as liaison between Webb County offices and environmental organizations
  • Administered South Texas Development Council/Texas Council on Environmental Quality grant which created Environmental Liaison position
  • Negotiated project budget with South Texas Development Council
  • Identified and ordered equipment for position
  • Prepared reports on project compliance to South Texas Development Council/Texas Council on Environmental Quality
  • Prepared flyers in English and Spanish on illegal dumping for distribution at Webb County Community Centers and other locations
