Plans, directs, and executes all aspects of the installation Health Promotion Program (HPP) and Health and Wellness Center (HAWC) activities and services in concert with Air Force Health Promotion Operations (HPO), Major Command (MAJCOM) and Department of Defense (DoD) strategic goals and objectives. Conducts, at minimum, annual strategic planning to develop HPP goals and objectives to align with MAJCOM and AF HPO strategic plan and address the specific needs of the installation. Develops ongoing action plans and reviews the action plan at least annually to evaluate program effectiveness. Accesses available population database support and collaborates with population health planners (e.g. Health Care Integrator) to effectively assess population needs and target/prioritize installation HPP for individuals and groups. Advises the development and coordination of annual budgets for both AF appropriated fund (APF) and medical (DHP) funding to support an effective and high-quality HP program. Monitors daily HPP execution and HAWC operations. Provides expert advice to local leadership on daily command and control of operations. Responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating all HAWC primary, secondary and tertiary prevention health education programs and services IAW Air Force instructions and installation HPP action plan. Provides health education expertise, consultancy, and advocacy to support a comprehensive Air Force Fitness Program. Collaborates with installation health professionals and organizational leaders to identify and employ resources as appropriate to execute HPP. Maintains data quality management (e.g. coding, MEPRS) in program execution. Communicates, coordinates and markets health promotion programs among local leadership and target customers/beneficiaries. Develops and coordinates local health promotion program policy to guide program execution. Teaches individuals and groups on a variety of health-related topics employing age-specific and behavioral learning theory (e.g. adult learning theory, motivational interviewing). Administers health assessment, develops client goals and provides individual counseling. Delivers HP briefings, educational sessions, and seminars/workshops as required/requested. Provides expertise to deliver and evaluate training programs for professional staff and colleagues on HP-related topics. Actively participates as a member of the installation IDS team and Population Health Working Group (PHWG); acts as a liaison between the two groups. Participates in teleconferences, updates, working groups, review panels, symposiums, etc. related to health promotion programming, management or operations.
