Built the entire HR Department for a newly created food processing company.  Designed the policies and procedures, training programs for Professional management development, new hire orientation and employee development and safety. Served on the top management team.  Developed human resources policies and procedures, responsible for recruitment, training and organizational development and strategic planning for the facility.  Plant population was 70/30% Hispanics and had excellent employee relations with the employees.    Developed, implemented and trained employees on all safety programs.  Strategic partner of a management team that was assembled to implement processes and controls necessary to stabilize the plant prior to consolidation and closing.  Maintained highest level of professionalism, productivity and employee morale.

Served on the top management team. Cut unscheduled absenteeism 10% by developing new policies and winning buy-in.   Developed and communicated benefit changes to the workforce. Instructed several Harvard Business classes at Alcoa University and Connect the Customer training where lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts were used.   Day to day duties included employee relations, recruitment, development of policies and procedures.   Enforced affirmative action plans.  Strategic partner of a management team that designed and implemented a Human Design System, which engaged and developed employees at all levels of the organization. This position directly managed and coordinated all aspects of Human Resources and payroll administration for a multi-location company.  This position’s responsibilities included internal communications, exempt/nonexempt recruiting and staffing, employee activities, benefit and wage administration, safety training and administration of the arbitration/grievance policy and training and development of the workforce.   Split management duties between both facilities, involving regular travel while managing HR personnel in both locations.   Coordinated health and medical insurance coverage and premium negotiations with insurers.  Communicated two successful changes of Insurance companies providers for employee group benefits.   Assisted with the design, development and implementation of ISO 9002 program.   Conducted and communicated to the workforce the transition of 401K-trustee change.
