Annual production volume averaged $1.6 billion generating revenues in excess of 73 million annually in 2005. The company is licensed to do business in all the states though 6 production offices. Directly responsible for oversight and management of the financial condition of the Company, and its affiliate, as well as the following: • Direct involvement in the monthly reporting process, • Review and analysis of business strategies, • Development of internal controls, • Oversee Sarbanes Oxley compliance, • Maximizing return on assets, • Cash management, • Maintaining relationships with financial institutions, • Focal point for annual audits and regulatory agencies. The Company is owned by Laredo National Bank in Texas which was acquired in April of 2005 by BBVA (2nd largest bank in Spain) out of Madrid, Spain. I was recruited to restructure the Company and use it as a platform from which BBVA could provide mortgage lending in the United States. Unfortunately that decision was changed and now they have decided to discontinue operations. Sunshine Mortgage Company – 2/1999 to 11/2005 Chief Financial Officer of a mortgage company engaged in the business of origination, sale, and servicing of real estate loans, as well as wholesale and construction lending. The company also provides mortgage reinsurance coverage through an affiliate. Annual production volume exceeded $1 billion generating revenues in excess of 40 million annually. The company also maintains a servicing portfolio in excess of $550 million and is licensed to do business in 15 states though 18 offices. Directly responsible for oversight and management of he financial condition of the Company, its Parent, and two affiliates as well as the following: • Direct involvement in the monthly reporting process, • Review and analysis of business strategies, • Development of internal controls, • Maximizing return on assets, • Tax return preparation, • Cash management, • Maintaining relationships with financial institutions, • Focal point for annual audits and regulatory agencies. In my six years with the Company, the accounting systems have been replaced with windows based software designed for mortgage bankers and the transaction flow restructured to allow automation of transactions. Other changes implemented include new payroll provider, fixed asset system and A/P systems. First Street Mortgage Corp., - 02/1998 - 12/1998 Employed as Vice President/Controller responsible for the maintenance, control, and preparation of monthly financial information for management and investors, preparation and filing of state and Federal tax returns, and preparation of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts. Company discontinued operations in December, 1998. EquiCredit Corporation (Subsidiary of Bank of America)–05/1991 - 02/1998 Initially the company was Old Stone Credit Corp. The Company was sold by its Parent (Old Stone Bank) to an investment firm out of Boston which subsequently took the Company public through an IPO and changed the name to EquiCredit. Over the next few years the Company was purchased by Barnet Banks of Florida, which was acquired by Nations Bank, which was subsequently acquired by Bank of America. As Vice President/Controller of this consumer finance company we were engaged in the business of originating, selling, and servicing real estate loans secured by 1st and 2nd mortgages with operations in 40 states through 141 offices. The company generated production volume in excess of $2 billion annually generating revenues in excess of $168 million annually. The company also maintained a servicing portfolio in excess of $3 billion. I was Directly responsible for the preparation of monthly financial information for management, investors, and the parent Company as well as the following: • Preparation and filing of state and federal tax returns for over 100 entities, • Preparation and filing of quarterly and annual SEC filings, • Preparation of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts, • Heavily involved in the systems conversion after the 3 mergers and acquisitions, • Heavily involved in the initial public offering of the Company in September of 1993 and the subsequent $331 million acquisition by Barnett Banks, Inc in February ,1995, • Managed staff of 30+ individuals, • Established a warehouse lending program. Ernst & Young: 09/1985 - 05/1991 Audit manager responsible for annual examination of clients in the following industries: Mortgage Banking, Real Estate, Railroads, Utilities, Wholesale Distribution and Sales, Shipping, Colleges and Universities, Non-Profit Organizations, Governmental, and Pension Plans.
