Successfully Orienting Students Auburn, AL Jan 2002 – Dec 2002 Orientation Counselor for transfer students, students with special needs and their parents at Auburn University. Major responsibilities included giving tours, giving speeches about the history and traditions at Auburn University and assisting with selection of courses. S.O.S. is a part of Camp War Eagle for incoming freshman and was recognized as a top orientation program in the Southeast. Character Counts Auburn, AL Sept 2000 – Dec 2002 Tutored at local elementary schools in Auburn, AL. Worked with underprivileged and at-risk children to assist in the improvement of math and reading skills. Used six pillars, trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship, as basis for teaching the students. Basketball Recruiter Auburn, AL Oct 2000 – May 2000 Recruiter and Hostess for Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams. As part of Dunkin Darlings organization, main responsibilities were assisting in recruiting of potential players, motivating both teams and advertising Auburn Basketball to campus and town. 2000 Republican National Convention Philadelphia, PA May 1999 – Aug 2000 Responsibilities at the Convention were extensive. Tasks for first summer included, assisting Press Secretary with press releases, worked at reception desk and assisted Convention Manager with a variety of tasks as needed. The main responsibility in the second summer was overseeing the placement of all electronic equipment on the convention floor, media suites, in media tents, and in the Victory tent.
