A position requiring comprehensive product management, product development and inventory control. BACKGROUND Over 14 years experience in Production/Inventory Management, extensive and diversified supervisory experience, strong problem solving skills. Particularly effective in increasing productivity, capacity and inventory control. Demonstrated the ability to learn new skills quickly. Able to supervise new departments without prior experience and meet production goals. Successfully motivate employees. Excellent interpersonal skills. WORK EXPERIENCE 1993-Present Trafalgar, Norwalk, CT Director of Production Management Hilfiger, Trafalgar and Private Label divisions Position Background: I was hired to supervise three product managers. They were executing the daily work however no one was overseeing them to ensure the timely delivery of merchandise to the customer. Consequently, styles and forecasts were late, and raw materials were not always ordered in a way to ensure that all components arrived in time. This slowed down production, increased cost and lead to Trafalgar chronically shipping at the end of the delivery window. I was hired to correct and manage the Hilfiger, Trafalgar and Private Label divisions. I created and implemented the below procedures, to rectify the situation: • Issued and enforced a Merchandise Calendar so that all departments were aware of the time frame in which procedures had to be complete. • Set meetings with the various department heads to ensure that they stayed on schedule. • Ensured raw materials were ordered on schedule so that we could ship at the beginning of the delivery window, resulting in re-buy of goods by the customer. • Instituted a policy whereby the product managers had to review all incoming raw materials for quality. • Adopted a policy of having engineering meetings with Design, Manufacturing and Product Management to ensure that there were no unexpected cost increases or manufacturing problems in executing the designs. • Instituted a manufacturing plan based on minimum stock levers for core styles to curtail excess inventory and to insure a 100% fill rate on these styles. 1996-Present Trafalgar, Norwalk, CT Director of Production Management Hilfiger, Trafalgar and Private Label and Ghurka divisions • In addition to overseeing the Hilfiger and Private Label divisions I was given the added responsibility of overseeing the Ghurka division resulting in the addition of two more product managers. • Over time freight imports (including negotiating prices) was also added to my responsibilities. 1998-Present Additional responsibilities: • As the company started experiencing monetary problems it also became the responsibility of the product management department to further negotiate prices and supplier payments to ensure the continued shipments of raw materials. We were highly successful in that we managed to fill about 90-95% of orders in spite of this obstacle. • As we continued to experience a decrease in personnel it also became my responsibility to style the Brace line and work directly with our private label customers on special orders. 1987 - 1993 Warnaco - Menswear Manufacturing, New York Production/Merchandising Manager Puritan, Pringle, Private Label and Jack Nicklaus Divisions.
