Remain mindful of timing and cost constraints from start of program until completion. Responsible for a budget of over two million dollars ($2M), an estimated twenty external suppliers, and maintaining hundreds of drawing files. Specify equipment, tooling and gauging requirements, and define process parameters. Develop and maintain process documentation in conformance with QS9000 requirements. As TCF Tool and Design Engineer, work as a liaison between product engineering and the machining and assembly plants to ensure a successful installation of equipment and tooling. Plant Engineer Aug. 1995 – Nov. 1997 Managed over twenty million dollars ($20M) as the Lead Engineer for the heat treat department on a major corporate product launch. Successfully organized three core tier one suppliers and four tier two suppliers to provide required deliverables. Took proactive approach to equipment build process to guarantee timing schedules and equipment specifications were met. Tested all heat treat processes on ten different parts with various materials to determine the optimum cycle time and heating environment. Honeywell, Inc. DETROIT, MI Applications Engineer Aug. 1993 – Aug. 1995 Prepared sketches of control circuits and sequence of operation for industrial and commercial HVAC systems. Provided AutoCAD support to design department. Ordered materials and equipment to ensure availability for start of job. Implemented and created site-specific Direct Digital Control (DDC) programs for energy saving temperature control for building automation, written in Honeywell PASCAL. Developed methods to integrate existing systems with new product offerings. Took corrective action when problems occurred on site, aiding both field technicians and the customer. Assisted in training customers on newly installed DDC systems. Assigned as Lead Engineer for team of three engineers and two technicians. Managed all equipment and programming needs of the entire school district of Hamtramck, MI. Roush Industries LIVONIA, MI Machine Shop Coordinator Oct. 1992 - Apr. 1993 Scheduled time for machining prototype engine blocks, cylinder heads, intake and exhaust manifolds on all CNC milling centers. Tracked incoming and completed work orders for entire shop. Traced labor hours and material cost to ensure time and finances were managed accurately. Designed production planning to improve product quality throughout machine shop. Worked with design and program engineers to ensure projects were completed on schedule, and machined properly. Reconstructed small blue prints on various CAD Systems. Billed and ordered all material and supplies used. Managed inventory control and monitored tool and equipment use. Contracted outside machining sources for operations unable to be performed internally. Created spreadsheets and procedure lists to organize inspection data. Instrumental in Roush obtaining a large prototype machining and validation account from Ford Motor Company.
