Research is done on mice, looking at cardiac channels in order to find causes for various heart arrhythmias, including a newly discovered Wolf Parkinson’s Disease. Techniques such as gel electrophoresis, centrifugation and protein bioassay are used in order to analyze mice DNA. · Clinical Psychology Intern, Department of Clinical Psychology, Stanford University Professor. Ian H. Gotlib (June 2003-August 2003). Researched, about the cognitive processes of humans facing emotional depression. I spent a bulk of my time interviewing several candidates, analyzing their responses and finally reporting to my supervisor. The internship gave me an opportunity to work as a peer with people much senior to me and catch up with their learning curves. CLINICAL EXPERIENCE · Cardiology Intern at UC Davis Medical Center. (2003-2004). Working in Cardiology, while interacting with nurses and Cardiologists. Learned how to read EKG’s along with detailed viewings of the workings of the heart. Opportunity to interact with patients and learn about their medical histories, in addition to consult the cardiologists. · Cardiology and Neurology Intern at UCSF Medical Center. (2002-2003). Experience interacting with health care professionals, doctors and nurses while working at the Nurse station in Neurology and at the Cardiac care center. Also, I learned of the many other resources on campus that I was oblivious to prior to joining the commission. In addition, I also became more comfortable with the parliamentary procedure adopted by ASUCD and the Senate. · ASUCD Academic Affairs Commissioner—Associated Students of UCD (2002-2003) As an Academic Affairs Commissioner, I got the opportunity to understand the importance of knowing one’s environment, and the various projects that we worked on, together as a commission, and individually, reinforced within me the importance of being reliable and a team player. As a volunteer, I worked closely with the ASUCD Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Award. I had to talk to various representatives in the different colleges at UC Davis and motivated them to involve more students in this process.
