JOURNALISM WORK EXPERIENCE Spring 2002 “Express Yourself: The College Show” Tallahassee, FL Radio Host WTAL 1490am As the host of this weekly, 30-minute talk-show, I communicated with college students from Florida A&M University, Florida State University, Keiser College, and Tallahassee Community College. Topics to discuss for each segment were selected from a pool of e-mail, faxes, and phone calls. We covered topics ranging from “Parenting as a College Student,” “Inter-Racial Dating,” “Time Management,” “Domestic Violence,” as well as other issues concerning college students. Fall ’00-Fall ’02 CHOICE Entertainment Magazine Tallahassee, FL Executive Editor As Tallahassee’s first Black entertainment publication, we received much exposure from news stations as well as local publications. My responsibilities included assigning stories to each column editor for each publication, ensuring that all deadlines were being met, proof-reading each issue in its entirety for typographical and grammatical errors, and coordinating interviews and follow-ups with interviewees. Fall ’01-Spring ’02 Your Life, Your CHOICE TV Tallahassee, FL Television Co-Host FAMU Channel 20 This weekly 30-minute broadcast served as a supplement to the publication. We aired footage of the interviews that had been published in the prior week’s issue. As the Executive Editor of the print publication, I, along with the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, served as the host of this exciting television series.
