Fall 2005 The Child Development and Diversity Program Copenhagen, Denmark Research Assistant Researched and wrote summary paper on the differences between Danish and American early education and how both are affected by and reacting to immigration and multiculturalism in today’s classrooms. Applied course work to reach conclusions regarding the Danish welfare state’s effect on early childhood development. Observed and analyzed cross-cultural interaction of recently immigrated preschoolers. Fall 2005 Project Way Out: Rehabilitation Center for Drug-Using Adolescents Copenhagen, Denmark Intern Counseled youth in life skills and conflict resolution. Organized social and educational events for youth that foster youth independence from drugs and alcohol. Facilitated center’s atmosphere to support the physical and psychological recovery of individuals of diverse backgrounds. 2001-2003 YWCA Resolve Family Abuse Center: Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence Charleston, West Virginia Volunteer Counseled children of domestic violence victims.
