Any Arabic is like English for you. Assuming you were born and raised in America. I have basic computer skills. I also am a people person and get along with just about anyone. I have been trained as a translator for the Immigration courts . I understand what is the proper way of translating. I speak Arabic and Chaldean as I was born in Iraq. However I do not have a accent which is common when most folks speak multi languages. My husband was born and raised in MI and that helped me achieve the level of English that I speak as well as helped me loose any accent that I had. Employment history: Lionbridge 3/06 - Present Arabic Linguist 1983 - PRESENT (PRO-BONO) Linguist / Translator / Interpreter Arabic / Chaldean / English. UPS 7/00 - 8/05 I was hired as a part time general labor. Then worked my way up to become a full time driver. It is a very difficult job to reach in just three years. SEW RIGHT 6/95 - 7/00 I owned and operated a small sewing business out of my own home. During this time I sewed leather parts for the automotive industries. OLYMPIC FLAME 4/84 - 6/95 This restaurant was owned by a family member. I helped maintained and operate the business, also I ran the floor. LAMAR INDUSTRIES 5/84 - 6/90 I was a machine operator and worked my way up to a quality control position. EXPERIENCE: I know the culture of Baghdad because I lived and went to school. I speak read and write all three languages. I have been doing pro-bono work since 1980 for my people that are in the US now. I do all of there paper work such as social security, doctors, lawyers and just about any thing you can imagine. As for as the English aspect of it. I was taught in Iraq as well as my husband who was born and raised in MI. He helped me pick up on the American slang as well as proper English. It all helps. I am ready for this position.
