Work Experience Owner/operator 5/1988 - 5/2006 Southern Deli Inc, \ trading as Pizza Delight , Virginia Beach, Va.  Purchased and operated for 18 years. Experienced in all avenues of purchasing, inventory control, auditing, promoting, payroll, recruiting, banking, and some repair experience and constructed and moved said location. Employed up to fifteen and very involved in daily operations and training. Sales volume raised from 125,000 annually to 375,000 annually. Had manager and ast. Managers included in crew. Self motivated and require min. over seeing . Unit Manager 6/1984 - 5/1988 Barret Shoes, Hampton Roads, Va.  Hired As manager to run and operated retail shoe store . Responsible for inventory, sales projections, payroll control, store appearance, displays, and receiving and sending of merchandise. Managed 3 of the area stores one being a new store. Hired and filled all stores with employees as managers or ast , managers over the 4 year period. One Employee becoming a Dist. Sales Manager. Left company to open my own restaurant , Unit Manager 6/1981 - 5/1984 Wendy's International, NORFOLK, VA.  Hired as Management trained took over unit in approx. . . . 8 months . Was responsible for hiring and all aspects of restaurant operations. Employed up to 65 employees. Scheduling and training all done inside. On hands management at all times of operations. Left company due to extreme hours to exceed 70 hours a week and had family at home with children , Owner / Contractor 3/1980 - 4/1981 S&D Painting, Virginia Beach, Val  Contracted painting of homes and businesses. Also minor reconstruction and refurbishing. Most of work performed was on private homes and investment property. Unit Manager 6/1970 - 4/1980 Butler Shoe Corp, Atlanta, Georgia  Started as part time during High School. Proceeded to full time by junior year. Travel during the summer opening new stores approx, 5. Responsible for inventory set up and display work, Training of new hires and opening sales promotion. Was promoted to unit Manager at 18 years of age and moved to Burlington N.C. for one year then reassigned in Richmond Va. for remaining years. Hiring and training with display, promotion, inventory and security of said operation in all areas. Attended numerous training exercises in recruiting, sales and training aids.
