Tala R. Succari 580 Commonwealth Ave Boston, MA 02215 Phone: 781.985.2233 Email: [email protected] OBJECTIVE Seeking a position in Computer Engineering in which I would utilize my background knowledge, gain experience and achieve a deeper understanding of the field. EDUCATION BOSTON UNIVERSITY, College of Engineering Boston, MA Masters of Science in Computer Systems Engineering, (expected September 2006) Area of Concentration: Computer Communication and Networks Current GPA: 3.87/4.0 Coursework Digital Signal Processing, Mobile Ad Hoc Networking and Computing, Interconnection Networks for Multicomputers, Software Project Management, Information Theory, Discrete Stochastic Models, Advanced Discrete Mathematics UNIVERSITY OF BALAMAND, College of Engineering Tripoli, Lebanon Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, with Distinction - June 2005 Dean’s List (All 3 years) LYCEE FRANCO-LIBANAIS High School Tripoli, Lebanon French Baccalaureate - June 2002 Graduated within the top 10% of the class Projects Mobile Ad Hoc Networking and Computing Currently working on a project about Content-Based routing in Mobile Ad-Hoc networks (also known as Attribute-Based routing). The advantages, applications as well as a state of the art review and comparison of Content-Based routing schemes will be discussed during an oral presentation. Digital Signal Processing Fractional Delay (FD) Filters: Implemented an IEEE paper for designing FIR and IIR FD Filters using MATLAB. The project consisted of a theoretical portion describing the characteristics of ideal FD filters and a practical portion where the FD filter was designed using FIR and IIR design methods. Interconnection Networks for Multicomputers Compared the Store and Forward routing policy to the Wormhole routing policy using OPNET. OPNET code samples provided were read and re-engineered to make the comparison between the two routing policies. Artificial Intelligence (LISP-based programs) Games Swapping-Pairs Puzzle: The program uses the Best-First search algorithm. Connect-4: The program uses the Alpha-Beta algorithm. Knowledge Representation Intelligent Knowledge Base: Developed a program which allowed the user to create a knowledge base consisting of several propositions linked together constituting a semantic network. The program is capable of inference. Answers to questions related to the knowledge base are answered through the use of the Depth-First search algorithm. Resolution-Based Theorem Proof: Developed a program which proves a certain clause given by the user through a predefined knowledge base using the resolution algorithm. The proof procedure is a combination of an inference rule and an algorithm for applying that rule to a set of logical expressions to generate new sentences. Inference rules such as Modus Ponens as well as the Unification algorithm are applied. Object-Oriented programming Wrote a C++ program implementing a vending machine using classes and composition. The application allows the user to load different kinds of items into the vending machine, select an item to buy from a list of available items, cancel the selection and get the money back. Microprocessors Designed the hardware of a 68000 (Motorola microprocessor) single-board computer suitable for custom programming. Four main sections of the system were designed: timing, CPU, memory and peripherals. Networking and Communication Worked on a team to report on and discuss, “Voice over Internet Protocol” (VoIP). An oral presentation on the history, applications, advantages and disadvantages of VoIP was delivered.
