May 20 through June 24, 2005: I was selected to participate in the Miami University Transatlantic Seminar on the European Union. The Transatlantic Seminar is a pre-professional program designed to build the background and analytical skills of participants regarding the politics, policies, structure and operation of the contemporary movement at six of the most important political European capitals. Employment History: 9/2003-5/2006, Miami University, King Library, Oxford, OH. Presently working at King Library on the Miami University Campus in the Government and Law Section. Daily work includes shelving books, marking, preparing, and computer systems data entry and record-keeping. 5/2004-present (during semester breaks), Rosie’s Pierogies, Pittsburgh, PA. Work in a small, family-owned shop that specializes in Polish foods. Responsible for opening/closing, preparing food, assisting customers, cashier duties and phone/fax orders. 6-8/2004 Bath & Body Works; Monroeville, PA Sales Associate. Duties included cashier, greeting customers, stocking shelves, transportation of daily revenue to bank. 6/03-8/2004 Kiski Valley Branch YMCA; Vandergrift, PA Wellness Center Attendant. Duties included orientation and training of new members; daily inspection and upkeep of machinery. Clubs/Organizations/Awards: Member, 8/2003-present, Campus Activities Council, Co-Chair of Sprigfest Committee. One of two leaders who oversee the Springfest committee. Responsible for choosing committee, planning events, holding meetings and overseeing all activity involved with Springfest. Also a part of the CAC Direction and Development Team. Committee of Associated Student Government committed to discussing and fixing problems or concerns of students and faculty regarding academics, scheduling, and other such conflicts. Member, 1/2005-present, Co-Chair, Outstanding Professor Awards Committee. Committee of Associated Student Government dedicated to planning an event in March that celebrates students and professors. Member, 4/2005-present, Pi Sigma Alpha. Member of the Delta Mu chapter of the national political science honorary at Miami University. Campus Activities Council Member of the Month Award, 4/2004. Award given out once a month to one member of Campus Activities Council voted on by the executive board. Parents Council Certificate of Merit, 4/2005. Award given to Miami University students for the 2005 Student Leadership Awards in recognition of Campus Life Leadership.
