PR CONSULTATIONS Ponchatoula, LA 70454 June 2002 – Present Owner: Cultivate clients, design and implement media projects for small to mid-size businesses as well as graphic design, 35mm and digital photography, website design of media campaigns from inception to completion. Hattiesburg, MS. 39401 October 1995 – December 1998 Marketing Director: Administrator of the sales and marketing budget for Gulf States, developed a network of manufacturing representatives to replace the company’s in-house sales force and handled all aspects of marketing the company’s products to distributors. Success in these areas included placement of two products with QVC and Home Shopping Network (the two largest television retail channels in the United States). In addition, presented GSI products to QVC London and in 1996 the company traveled to England for a series of shows. I appeared on-air as spokesperson for Gulf States. Wrote, edited and published the GSI NEWS, a monthly news flier featuring product specials, product use information and customer highlights The publication was successful in increasing sales as well as good will among suppliers, customers, and staff. All typesetting was done using PageMaker and Microsoft Word. Designer: Designed labels for products as well as instituted a successful private label program for customers. Communications Specialist: Developed a communications program for the safety and health initiative titled CEOSH (Center of Excellence for Occupational Safety and Health). This initiative served more than 15,000 employees on site as well as the Houston area. Maintained seasonal safety and health campaigns, produced informational material such as fliers, brochures, and other documents. In addition, I served as communications liaison among various safety and health divisions and site media, wrote division press releases, produce to press the Safety Learning Center catalog and quarterly newsletter titled SafetyNet, worked with Safety Learning Center instructors to produce media for their presentations and wrote, produced and edited video pieces for the division. IV. DEPARTMENT OF INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT AND DEVELOPMENT - TELEVISION SERVICES Louisiana State University Baton Rouge, LA October 1990-October 1993 Assistant Manager: Cultivated clients and projects for division, produced and directed projects. Researched, wrote, produced and directed various projects for internal and external use of the University. Maintained equipment, supervised student workers and consulted on grant development. V. WLAE-TV 32 New Orleans, LA December 1988-October 1990 Promotions Director: Responsible for all print and on-air promotions for the station. A major goal was to increase public awareness of TV 32 through the use of free and paid publicity. Duties included: production of over twenty on-air promotional spots each week, administration of department staff and budget, purchasing of services and supplies, and maintained files and produced and distributed press releases and media kits, as well as coordinated all special promotional events for the station. Program Guide Editor: Wrote, edited and published the Circle of Friends, a monthly program guide. All typesetting was done using the Macintosh system Ready, Set, Go! VI. MURRAY ENVELOPE CORPORATION Hattiesburg, MS August 1987-November 1988 Special Projects Coordinator: Wrote and edited The MurrayGram, a bimonthly newsletter. Handled all public relations efforts dealing with the company’s products, and distributed samples for customers. Photographer: Extensively used 35mm camera for documentation of company activities. VII. UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF RADIO/TELEVISION SERVICES Hattiesburg, MS September 1980-October 1986 Senior Producer/Director: Supervised 20 paid student-staff members, wrote grants, conceptualized scripts; wrote, produced shot, and edited live and taped programs and public service announcements covering a wide variety of subjects including education, music, and dance. In addition, production of football and basketball games both at home and away as well as a 30-minute coach’s show aired throughout the state. Instructor: Trained all students working at the facility as well as those taking academic courses such as practicum and special problems for hands-on experience. Taught the set-up and operation of several ENG packages, set up of three tube cameras for in-studio and remote use including registration, basic engineering and troubleshooting, video tape editing and engineering. VIII. TELEVISION SOUTH Southampton, Great Britain July-August 1985 . Producer/Director: Duties included research, scripting, camera work, editing, and engineering for a video project to be used at Television South (TVS), one of the largest independent television stations in Great Britain. My services were requested for a special project during the summer of 1985. Special permission for me to work in Great Britain was necessary for this project. IX. WHAS RADIO AND TELEVISION INC. Louisville KY December 1979-August 1980 (Year long training position) Operations Engineer: Operated Master Control, automation for WHAS Radio, technical direction, audio, electronic graphics, and camera for live and taped programs, edited 3/4”, 1” and 2” Quad video tape. UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE INSTRUCTIONAL COMMUNICATIONS CENTER Louisville, KY April 1977-July 1979 Production Assistant & Producer/Director: Designed sets and lighting, floor directed, operated cameras for remote van and in-studio productions, ran audio board and served as technical director for both live and taped productions.
