How to Close a Phone Interview

As a professional recruiter the one mistake I see candidates make is not letting the hiring official know their intentions at the end of the phone interview. I have often heard hiring officicals say to me "well she did not really ask for the job. I told her we would be in touch and she told me that she would wait to hear form us". Hiring officials want to know that you want the job!

The best way to end a phone interview is to ask the hiring official "is their anything in this conversation that we have not covered that would prohibit me from getting the job? If so lets cover it because I want this job!
