Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary:
Graduate Assistant Summer Hire – this work is directly associated with the degree of study.
This position will work independently and in collaboration with the Mullen Center Communications Manager (MCM) to facilitate the execution of the following tasks. These tasks have been broken into priority levels, as the list is likely too long to accomplish in its entirety.
PR/Marketing for Villanova Theatre’s 26-27 season (announced on 5/13/26)
• Season Brochure execution in collaboration with MCM (Production)
o Research for imagery and narrative descriptive content
o Generating logos and narrative material for subscription flyer
• Playbill planning (Production)
o Playbill ad initiatives and coordination – on and off campus
o Create new biography form on google forms (with social media handle submission, tagging info, photography information and posting guidelines)
o Community agreement, land acknowledgment, donation page, and program advertisement filed in teams for easy playbill compilation
• Build 2026-2027 PR/Marketing calendar for Theatre Department (Academic)
o Social Media – Prepare social media plan for incoming students training and orientation in August
o Newsletter – Reinvigorate/reinvent the Department Newsletter
• Meet with Communications in Grad CLAS (Academic)
o Confirm 26-27 recruiting events and advertisements
o Discuss photography, trailers and social media strategies
• Create photography schedule for press shots (Production)
o Build press shoot calendar (promotional and archival)
o Develop concepts for each show
o Solidify posting guidelines with the department
• Transfer archival material (photos, videos, marketing materials) from desktop to Teams and Google (Departmental)
• Collaborate with Mullen Box Office and Front of House Management (Production)
o Group sales initiatives and advertisement
o Ticketing procedure for comps
o Get comp ticket policy in writing
§ Designers and staff, Grad Students, Minors and work study, Directors, Mullen Staff, Faculty (especially adjunct)
• Begin building a new handbook (Departmental)
o Rewrite GA job description
Production Website Updates (.org page)
• Archived productions
….• Faculty and staff bios and info
• Hours up for the Mullen center
• Updating box office staff on website
• Create visible separate production pages including special events dates
Academic Website Updates (.edu page – this will begin after the 7/31 when the CLAS “freeze” is lifted)
• Faculty info and bios
PTRS updates
• Department news
• Update GAship descriptions
