We welcome all approaches, including behavior, imaging, electrophysiology, causal manipulations, cellular and molecular approaches, and method development using non-human primates. We particularly encourage candidates whose work combines multiple experimental approaches with cutting-edge analytical approaches to understand the brain.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, or related discipline and have a demonstrated record of excellence and leadership in research, commensurate with career stage, with a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring that will enhance the work of the department and that will attract and retain a diverse student body. We welcome applications from members of all groups.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in neuroscience and to establish or maintain an active, internationally-recognized research program. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development of interdisciplinary programs and collaborations within PNI and across the university.
In addition to other outstanding neuroscience resources at Princeton, a 248K square foot building houses state-of-the-art experimental resources that support the full range of neuroscientific methods, including recording in animal model systems, cellular and circuit level imaging and brain imaging. PNI comprises 28 core faculty members, whose research interests span from molecular and cellular neuroscience, systems and circuits neuroscience, human cognitive neuroscience, to theory and computational neuroscience. We seek creative and enthusiastic candidates with the background and skills to build upon and complement these existing strengths and extend PNI into new and exciting research areas.
Review of applications will begin on October 19, 2026. Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, including a list of publications and presentations, a 3-5 page summary of research accomplishments and future plans, a 1-2 page teaching statement.
