Faculty Instructor - Part-Time
Job Description
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a part-time Instructor position to teach a 3-credit lower-division mathematics course in Spring 2026, with the possibility of renewal depending on performance, enrollment, and budget.
Responsibilities
- Teach one lower-division undergraduate course (e.g., College Algebra, Precalculus, or Business Calculus).
- Prepare syllabi, assignments, and exams consistent with departmental guidelines.
- Hold regular office hours and provide timely feedback to students.
- Maintain accurate course and grade records.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a closely related field completed by the start of the appointment.
- Ability to teach lower-division undergraduate mathematics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in mathematics or a closely related field.
- Prior successful experience teaching undergraduate mathematics.
