The Associate Director, Digital Engagement Initiatives, supports the University of Pittsburgh’s strategic initiative to support student and alumni success. The Associate Director will be responsible for helping Pitt’s wide-ranging collective of alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends of the University to get the most out of their connections and will have primary responsibility for the implementation and ongoing coordination of platforms and solutions implemented to support this work.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of related professional experience in higher education, alumni relations, career services, or digital engagement (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Additional Skillsets:
• Demonstrated experience with digital platforms supporting networking and/or mentoring initiatives.
• Strong project and program management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to analyze data, report outcomes, and use insights to improve programs and platforms.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across diverse populations and stakeholder groups.
• Comfort with ambiguity and evolving priorities; willingness to adapt and iterate as initiatives grow.
Job Summary
Performs all administrative and operational functions of a program. Coordinates all program events and personnel and provides services directly to customers. Develops and implements program policies and procedures. Performs budgetary functions and oversees media communications, website updates, and newsletters.
Essential Functions
• Lead planning, development, and management of digital networking and mentorship platforms.
• Design, implement, and assess scalable programs that connect alumni, students, faculty, and staff for mentoring, networking, and career development.
• Partner with campus units and alumni leaders to ensure broad participation and consistent alignment with institutional mission and goals.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret engagement data to drive continuous improvement, platform adoption, and measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with Communications to expand visibility and user experience across platforms.
• Serve as primary point of contact for alumni and students participating in digital mentoring and networking initiatives.
• Serve as a primary contact for campus partners who want to leverage platforms.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid: Combination of On-Campus and Remote work as determined by the department.
Hiring Range: $58,000-$60,000
