Position Summary
Aegis Aerospace is seeking a Mission Integration Engineer for its Space Flight Systems team. This role leads the analytical and physical integration of customer experiments for commercial space missions and lunar surface missions. The engineer serves as the primary customer contact during integration and as the NASA point of contact for completing the International Space Station (ISS) integration process.
SFS delivers Aegis Aerospace’s commercial Space Testing as a Service (STaaS) offerings. Customers use these missions to establish spaceflight heritage for products, reduce technology risk, and conduct research in orbit and on the Moon. The team’s platforms include commercial platforms attached to the ISS, the M1 free-flying satellite bus, and future lunar surface platforms.
This position combines customer coordination, requirements and schedule management, technical documentation, and hands-on work with flight hardware.
Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned commercial platform and lunar platform customers during mission integration.
- Manage assigned mission budgets and schedules.
- Help customers meet applicable ISS and launch vehicle requirements.
- Develop and maintain interface definition documents, system requirements, design documents, test plans and procedures, and project presentations.
- Assist with the assembly and integration of flight hardware and ground support hardware.
- Assist with functional testing of mission carriers, as required.
- Support commercial platform on-orbit operations, as required.
- Work an extended schedule occasionally when needed for mission support.
- Travel approximately 10%, as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or another STEM field.
- At least 1 year of full-time professional experience in engineering or a technical field outside of academic coursework.
- Strong time management and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and accountable.
- Comfortable working with senior executives, scientists, engineers, and customers.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency and the ability to pass a government background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least three years of full-time experience in engineering or a technical field.
- Experience with ISS payload integration and safety processes.
- Degree in mechanical, electrical, materials, or aerospace engineering.
Pay Range:
Expected salary range is $80,000-$100,000 per year based on education, experience, and any relevant certifications
