Job Description

The Perioperative Nurse plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and family support during the surgical journey. You will be responsible for assisting physicians and ensuring a seamless experience in the Pre-Op and PACU areas. This role is crucial in maintaining a high standard of care and supporting organizational goals through quality service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional patient care and family support throughout the surgical experience.
  • Assist physicians with equipment, supplies, and support in Pre-Op and PACU.
  • Ensure a smooth and safe surgical process, adhering to high standards of care.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive environment for patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver efficient and effective care.
  • Stay updated with clinical applications and best practices.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's in nursing preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey is required.
  • BLS certification is mandatory upon hire.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications are required, as designated by specialty.
  • Prior experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to adjust to schedule changes.
  • Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred, with training provided.
  • Ability to work in a busy, noisy environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Physical requirements include standing for long periods and occasional lifting.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
