Licensed Practical Nurse LPN - Behavioral Health - Outpatient

CIFC Health's Adult Behavioral health department (out-patient) is seeking a full-time compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. You will work alongside nurse practitioners and other behavioral health professionals to provide the highest standard of care to our patients.
Responsibilities within LPN License:
- LPNs gather information to be used by providers in assessment and patient care.
- LPNs administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- LPNs monitor and record vital signs, medical history and symptoms
- LPNs assist as needed and within licensure
- LPNs provide education to patients and families on healthcare topics
- LPNs maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care
- LPNs collaborate with nurses, and other medical departments as needed. Completes paperwork needed by external organizations
- LPNs triage for calls on patients, using established protocols to determine appropriate care, including at home management, or timing and location of visits
- LPNs provide patient/family education including education on after hours, triage and referral services
- LPNs contact specialists to obtain letters and results and helps to set up home therapies if appropriate as determined by a provider.
Requirements:- High School Diploma or GED
- Current LPN license in the state of Connecticut
- Previous experience in pediatrics preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual strongly encouraged to apply
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Understanding of medical terminology and nursing protocols
- Experience with electronic medical records required; eClinical Works preferred.
