WHAT IS THE ROLE ABOUT? As the Manager of Product Marketing for the K-12 team, you will lead product marketing strategy for our K-12 portfolio while managing and mentoring a small team of product marketing professionals. You will work closely with marketing and sales leadership, as well as cross-functional partners, to align business goals, support product development, and drive high-impact go-to-market execution.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
Go-to-Market Strategy & Campaign Execution
- Develop and execute data-driven go-to-market strategies across K-12 portfolio to drive awareness, adoption, and growth.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives and partner with marketing, sales, editorial, and technology teams to align priorities, launches, and resources.
- Use customer insights, voice-of-customer data, and the full marketing mix to sharpen positioning and optimize go-to-market execution.
- Lead multi-channel campaigns and assets that support state and district opportunities, from concept through delivery, across print and digital channels.
- Manage vendors, budgets, and contracts in partnership with internal teams and the Marketing Director.
- Track KPIs, measure ROI, and use analytics to optimize strategy and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead sales enablement tool utilization and training efforts to strengthen messaging, differentiation, and sales readiness.
People Management
- Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing product marketing team through clear goal setting, regular coaching, and ongoing feedback.
YOU MUST HAVE (MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor’s degree minimum.
- 5 to 8+ years of product marketing experience in K12 education market space
- 2+ years of experience managing a team.
- Strong communication, influence, presentation and cross-functional leadership skills with experience managing stakeholders, agencies and vendors across go-to-market strategy, launches, and campaigns.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using marketing metrics to inform planning, reporting, KPIs and ROI.
- Experience turning product value into clear positioning, compelling messaging, and differentiated go-to-market strategies using customer insights, market feedback, and performance data.
- Experience proactively managing and leading projects or workstreams.
- Strong understanding of the K–12 and higher education industry/market, experience with education-focused platforms to support engagement and campaign performance.
- Experience with CRM, marketing automation, and campaign or project management tools such as Salesforce, Marketo, Asana, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
IDEAL IF YOU HAVE (PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE):
- Master's degree and/or certifications a plus.
- Familiarity with VHL products.
- Shareable portfolio of previous relevant marketing work.
- Salesforce and Marketo experience preferred.
LOCATION: Boston-Hybrid
Candidates must currently live in the U.S. and be based near our Boston office and able to work a hybrid in-office schedule (at a minimum Tuesdays and Thursdays each week). Relocation assistance is not available.
SALARY RANGE: $90,000 - $110,000 annual
This position is salaried and is eligible for an annual incentive based on employee and organizational performance.
