Job Description

The Labor & Delivery department at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center is a dynamic and rewarding environment for New Graduate Registered Nurses. Our team plays a crucial role in supporting mothers and their newborns during one of the most significant moments of their lives. As a New Grad RN, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our patients, working alongside experienced healthcare professionals who will guide and mentor you throughout your nursing journey.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to mothers and newborns, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Monitor vital signs, assess patient conditions, and report any concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Assist with labor and delivery procedures, offering support and guidance to mothers.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Educate patients and their families on post-partum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care practices.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments and interventions.
  • Promote a positive and supportive environment for mothers and their families during the birthing process.
  • Attend educational sessions and training programs to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN license to practice in the state of New Jersey.
  • Successful completion of an accredited nursing program within the last 12 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
