Job Description

The Interventional Radiology Technologist plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care by conducting diagnostic tests as directed by physicians. This position requires a competent and efficient approach, ensuring optimal test results and patient management during procedures. The technologist also ensures equipment functionality and supports student clinical education activities. This role actively contributes to organizational goals through quality customer service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic testing according to established procedures, ensuring quality patient care.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently to obtain optimal results.
  • Manage patients during procedures to meet care standards.
  • Maintain supplies and report equipment issues to the appropriate staff.
  • Actively participate in student clinical education activities.
  • Provide quality customer service and support performance improvement efforts.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and cooperation in daily tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with state and national licensing requirements.
  • Maintain clinical proficiency and stay updated with clinical applications.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Licensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).
  • Certified in Radiography (R.T.(R) by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Advanced ARRT certification preferred within 18 months of passing initial registry or date of hire.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • ACLS certification required within 3 months from the date of hire or transfer.
  • 1-year diagnostic testing experience preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at the time of hire, with training provided for incumbents.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
