SunTrust architected an efficient and effective model for managing mortgage loan documents received from customers, submitted through various branches and other sales teams. As the legacy systems are developed using various vendor specific applications, SunTrust required integrating data into a single data repository. It needed this solution to be in place before it acquires other banks which are mainly into mortgage business. Prior developing this model, data existed in various RDBMS like Oracle and SQL Server and post development this database is made as single stop data repository for various needs.

Metropolis project involved the development of a Global Incident Management System which will replace Clarify, CSS, and Phoenix functionality within Microsoft. Email Services is a core module that takes care of the Emails entering and leaving the
Metropolis system and it comprises of two key components to handle all the incoming and outgoing mails. Inbound Email component is an SMTP transport event sink that intercepts and processes all incoming mails as per the business rules. Outbound mail
Component is a multi-threaded component that is responsible for composing the outbound mail messages and sending them out through SMTP server.
Responsibilities:
• Developed ‘Inbound event sink’ which include various features like detection of the ‘char set’ if it is missing and corruption detection if ‘char set’ is already present in incoming mails.
• Stored all the data of the incoming mail as XML into d/b in Unicode format.
• Developed ‘Outbound mail component’ by implementing various features like multithreading, where each worker thread process a single outbound message and then wait until the next message is available.
• Used XPath queries for retrieving the fields from the xml returned by the stored procedure.
• Used third party compression API called Xceed for un-compressing the attachments stored in file server and attached the same as attachments for outgoing mails.
• Worked with CDO for composing MIME formatted mail message.
• Created a harness application using ASP.NET for testing both the ‘Inbound event sink’ and ‘outbound event sink’.
