Worked with vendors, providing specifications for services and products purchased, such as high-resolution typesetting, film negatives, color separations, transparencies, scanning, trapping and overprinting of colors, duotones, production of electronic files, photo processing and printing. Used PageMaker on an IBM-PC, a grayscale scanner and operated a mm camera. Provided photographs of political dignitaries, authors, public affairs activities, retirement functions, awards ceremonies and special events. Attended photo selection meetings with Editors. Maintained a log book of all purchase requisitions, returned receiving reports and worked closely with the Division of Procurement to seek the best way to purchase contracted services. After graduating from the Art Academy, began working full-time for Dr. John Shea at his hospital in Memphis, TN as a Medical Illustrator. Dr. Shea was a specialist who performed almost daily otolaryngological surgery on patients of all ages.
