As a Senior IT Software Developer (Business Intelligence), you will be responsible for architecting and developing business intelligence (BI) solutions using IBM Cognos, IBM DataStage, and Oracle database in accordance with enterprise standards and user requirements. Areas of responsibility include partnering with business users to identify and maximize opportunities to utilize data warehouse to improve business processes; evaluating, planning, designing, and implementing new data marts and data warehouses; delivering insightful, consumable, and actionable reports, scorecards, dashboards, metadata, or semantic modeling (cubes), and analytical outputs to improve business performance; ensuring reliability, consistency, and availability of data warehouses.
Schedule: 9/80 Monday through Friday with every other Friday off

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and six years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience.
Relevant Experience is defined as: a combination of experience designing data warehouses using Cognos or other BI tools. A Minimum of 2 years of experience with Cognos is required.

Employees in this position may be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications, licensing and registrations:
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is a consortium of 26 cities and water districts that provides drinking water to nearly 19 million people in Southern California.
