As an Assistant Controller - Financial Reporting Unit Manager you will be responsible for the processing and issuance of all financial statements and reports for Metropolitan and the organizations for which it is a trustee and/or treasurer including but not limited to quarterly and annual financial statements, ACFR, Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards, and State Controller Financial Transaction reports. The Assistant Controller - Financial Reporting Unit Manager will also be responsible for the accounting activities for Oracle Project Accounting, Grants Management and Plant and Equipment. You will coordinate the activities of the external auditors including the Single Audit and assist in the review and analysis of new accounting standards and develop policies and procedures within areas of responsibility to ensure Metropolitan’s compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and twelve years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, of which four years must have been in a management or supervisory position; or an advanced degree from an accredited college or university and ten years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, of which four years must have been in a management or supervisory position

Increasingly Responsible Relevant Experience is defined as: Combination of experience in Financial Audits, implementation of GASB or FASB standards, and preparation of financial statements.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s):
Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.

A Certified Public Accountant license issued by the California Board of Accountancy
