Performance Foodservice - Thoms Proestler Company (TPC) is an operating company of Performance Food Gorup located with 400+ associates and 70+ sales representatives. This position, based in Rock Island, IL, is not a remote position and requires travel up to 50% of the time to visit customers, attend business meetings, etc. 

Responsible for the senior sales and marketing leadership, fiscal planning, setting strategy and attaining targets. Also responsible for establishing sales territories and goals, sales, training and market research.

This leader is a member of the OpCo senior leadership team, reporting to the Opco President, and is responsible for management and direction of the Sales and Marketing Department staff, achieving performance metrics, expense and revenue management, and compliance with established safety standards and government regulations.

Analyzes market potential and develops and implements plans to achieve maximum penetration in the marketplace.

Monitors competitive activity and provides feedback to OpCo leadership.

Has thorough understanding of and fully leverages NLP and Market Watch programs to maximize the company's effectiveness and to add case growth.

Sets strategy based on customer business drivers to increase market share for products and services.

Oversees and directs annual OpCo Food Shows, General Sales Meetings and DSM Meetings, etc.

Develops and fosters trusting relationships with customers.

Directly manages major and critical developing customer accounts.

Accountable for building and leading the strategy for training and development of the sales staff (including Regional Managers, District Sales Managers and Area Managers).

Leads and directs all aspects of sales and marketing performance, adjusting activities to meet or exceed financial targets.

Attains targeted profit margins as determined by business goals; increases sales growth with acceptable levels of gross margins.

Collaborates and leads sales leadership in presenting major proposals to key customers.

Provides expertise and assistance in the solicitation of new or prospective business by participating in meetings and other activities to help build customer relations.

Performs other related duties as assigned.



Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree
Required Experience: 10+ years in a sales leadership position in the foodservice distribution industry
Valid drivers' license
Ability to drive personal vehicle to customer locations
50% travel, including some overnight travel
Preferred Qualifications :
Preferred Experience: 10+ years of prior experience managing a complex salesforce that spans a large demographic area
