As an Operations and Maintenance II Machinist on the Fabrication/Machine Shop Team you will be learning and utilizing mechanical skills, experience and knowledge in the practices, procedures, and methods of measuring, checking, fabricating, repairing, and the disassembly and assembly of general and complex machined parts, equipment, and tools in the Machine Shop at the Weymouth Plant. Your support in the operational core of water and power reliability by utilizing all types of machine shop tools and equipment and applying general skills in machining accuracy to tool varied metals, alloys and other materials into parts, equipment components, machinery and specialized tools will be critical in this position.

Work Schedule: 4/10, Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or certificate of high school equivalency in addition to a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a large industrial machine shop using CNC and/or manual machines; OR

High school diploma or certificate of high school equivalency and attainment of skills through a recognized machinist trade training program and/or applicable related experience within an industrial environment.

Experience and knowledge as demonstrated by practical application of general techniques and practices specific to the inspection, operation, maintenance and repair of machining equipment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES and REGISTRATIONS REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this position may be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications, licensing and registrations:
• Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
• Forklift Certification
• Manlift Certification

Expectations of Hours of Service: Employees in this position may be required to work off-shift hours to address operational needs and emergencies as required. May be required to work extended periods away from the normal reporting location.
