We are looking for a Public Affairs Representative II who will join our Media Services Team. The successful candidate is a creative and skilled writer with well-rounded experience in corporate communication and/or public communication. They are a talented storyteller, with creative ideas on disseminating information and the ability to turn technical data into information that is easy to understand for the public.

You will assist with providing information to the public on Metropolitan, its initiatives, and projects. You will monitor, write, and update web content, ensuring it is current and fresh. As the successful candidate, you will assist with other writing projects such as social media posts, talking points, scripts, newsletters, and fact sheets about Metropolitan, current water supply conditions, and specific projects such as the Pure Water Southern California proposed water recycling project and water infrastructure improvements.

This Public Affairs Representative II position is located at our Headquarters Building in downtown Los Angeles.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years relevant experience of which two years of experience must have been at the Public Affairs Representative I level; or a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years relevant experience of which two years of experience must have been at the Public Affairs Representative I level.

Relevant Experience is defined as: experience in writing web content, social media, and other materials for corporate communications and/or public communications.


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this position may be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications, licensing and registrations:


License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent that allows you to drive during your employment is required at time of application.
