This entry level position is responsible for assistance in managing and maintaining Metropolitan's Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. In this position, successful candidate will learn and assist with system administration, security controls, and the configuration, maintenance, and support of the SCADA network, Oracle and other database systems, remote terminal unit (RTU) and programmable logic controller (PLC) hardware / software, as well as Windows and Linux operating systems and desktop application software. This position learns and assists with conducting investigations and analyses, resolving SCADA server & desktop application and operating system problems and implementations.

The position requires frequent interaction with contractors and coworkers in support of day-to-day SCADA system operations. As a member of the SCADA team, this position will work closely with SCADA support staff, network communications staff, process control programmers, cybersecurity staff, and engineers, who are responsible to provide exceptional customer service to a variety of Metropolitan teams including Metropolitan’s Engineering Services Group, Water Systems Operations Group, and Information Technology Group.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or certificate of high school equivalency AND either two years of accredited college or university in engineering related coursework or two years of relevant experience.

Relevant Experience is defined as: industrial control systems; troubleshooting/debugging of SCADA systems; system administration; security controls; networking; or configuration and maintenance of Windows and Linux operating systems and desktop application software.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
