The fleet unit manages Metropolitan’s fleet maintenance and transportation services which operates more than 1,400 cars, trucks and vans that travel more than 12 million miles annually on company business. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, procurement and salvaging of vehicles, service trucks, heavy duty equipment, off road equipment, construction equipment, portable and standby generators, aircraft and various operating equipment and management of fuel systems. This position also involves overseeing Metropolitan vehicle transportation fleet, acquisition of the fleet, and assignment of vehicles; maintenance of fleet licensure, registration, vehicle records such as usage, assignment, mileage, and maintenance; vehicle transportation services and safety and regulatory requirements related to fleet vehicles and refueling systems.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and twelve years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, of which four years must have been in a management or supervisory position; or an advanced degree from an accredited college or university and ten years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, of which four years must have been in a management or supervisory position.
Relevant experience is defined as: experience related to vehicle, aircraft, train, construction equipment or fueling systems in the areas of maintenance, operations, dispatching, or acquisition and salvaging.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
