As the Budget Unit Manager you will be responsible for the coordination and overall development of Metropolitan’s biennial budget. Your responsibilities will include: working with executive management and staff throughout the District to develop planned expenditures and authorized personnel levels; developing written reports and board letters; and creating, publishing, and presenting Metropolitan’s biennial budget

You will be the business administrator for systems that support the biennial budget development, both internal and external, and reporting of actual costs to budget. You will act proactively and in response to requests that require extensive, in-depth research and analysis of program and project costs.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and twelve years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, of which four years must have been in a management or supervisory position; or an advanced degree from an accredited college or university and ten years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, of which four years must have been in a management or supervisory position

Relevant Experience is defined as: work experience with public sector budgeting and accounting practices; public finance; and cost analysis and management techniques; with at least three years of developing and managing multiple departmental budgets within a public sector organization

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
