JCDecaux is looking for an Operations Manager to join our Airport Operations Team! The candidate should be comfortable multitasking and working cross-functionally with different business units. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in related fields. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

The Operations Manager will be responsible for operational related duties, as directed or not directed, to inspect, maintain and service advertising units within airports & malls while staying within the parameters of given expense budgets and following detailed instructions. He/She will supervise the work of other Maintenance Service Providers and specialty contractors that are subcontracted by JCDecaux as part of ongoing contracts within our properties or that may be hired on occasion for special projects. He/She will also provide support to MSP as required in order to complete directed tasks. In addition, this role will support management and sales with assistance and solutions to airport and mall operational inquiries.

   

This position will report directly to the Regional VP of Operations and is key in maintaining the adverting panels in the highest possible manner. Communication is critical of problems encountered, posting deficiencies and/or requests by regional and national sales staff as well as solutions to unforeseen problems.

 

Main Duties/responsibilities (in order of priority)                              Aprox % of time spent

 

  • Maintain a physical presence in airports/malls with the necessary tools to repair              45%

   JCDecaux products and/or mount/replace/remove advertising signage. This may include the posting of advertising copy in malls as instructed and the checking and verifying of postings done by other contractors and that all advertisements are illuminated and displayed for maximum exposure. Includes escorting contractors or clients to implement the requirements of the project.

 

  • Conduct surveys and inspections of advertising units to determine actual working              30%

   conditions and implement repairs and follow up immediately to restore to 100% working condition. Confer with technical support staff to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues.                       

               

  • Follow up and complete tasks and requests by management resulting from property         10%

   inspections. Verify postings of advertising campaigns and current conditions of equipment in the field.     

 

  • Gather and submits all proof of performance photos to the operations support staff in          5%

      a timely manner and as required.

 

  • Maintain and deliver requested reports including the reporting of findings to management       5%

   of actual conditions as well as to property staff. Extensive use of Mobops software to document findings.

 

  • Meet with management, subcontractors or airport or mall management.                5%

 

Tools and equipment used:

 Company supplied computer laptop with standard business programs and those unique to JCDecaux. Cell phone. Car or van may be provided or car allowance. Some maintenance tools.

 

Working conditions/degree of effort required:

Most of the work requires local visits to the properties to inspect, maintain and service company equipment. It requires a high level of responsibility, trust, and efficiency to achieve the high-quality standards that are tradition at JCDecaux. This effort will be seen in the manner in which the panels are displayed (aesthetically and working-wise) to our clients and mall/airport visitors. 

 

Strong adherence to sustainability, energy efficiency, recycling of materials and equipment is required. JCDecaux is committed to reducing waste, pollution and energy consumption and is ISO 14001 certified.

 

Travel is required to other properties within the region regularly. In order to reduce travel costs, travel will be consolidated to achieve the greatest efficiency and due to COVID restrictions, this travel may be limited to properties outside of the local area.

 

 

Qualifications/education required:

High School diploma or GED. 

 

Experience required:

2-5 years’ experience in maintenance and electrical procedures with technical “hands on” background. 

                    

  Skills:

  • Strong electrical, electronics (Digital) and mechanical skills required
  • Excellent leadership, decision-making and diplomacy skills
  • Ability to analyze the overall maintenance process to suggest creative improvements that will increase efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
  • Ability to listen and take notes, without making assumptions is key. 
  • Follow up to problems and situations to achieve resolution and a positive outcome.
  • Excellent communication & written skills to discuss issues, successes, and day-to-day matters is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook & basic computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license

 

 

Background check: The position will require securing airport credentials that require the successful passing of Federal background checks.
