The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is looking to hire a Principal Equal Employment Opportunity Analyst (Investigations). This position reports directly to the Director of Human Resources. The successful candidate will perform fact-finding specific to investigating complaints and/or allegations of discrimination, unlawful workplace harassment and/or retaliation regarding protected classes to determine the validity of claims, means of resolution, and impact to the organization. By following proper protocols for administrative investigation, you will conduct investigative interviews, research and analyze information, ensuring consistency and fairness in the application of policies, and prepare timely, clear, concise, thorough and well-written investigative reports which include fact finding, narrative summaries and conclusions. You will make recommendations based on investigation findings; researching key business issues; identifying potential action steps; fully documenting investigation findings; and providing input for the creation of corrective action plans for substantiated allegations.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, and eight years relevant experience, two of which must include experience conducting investigations into complaints and/or charges of discrimination, unlawful workplace harassment or retaliation and four of which includes professional experience working in the area of equal employment opportunity or affirmative action;

or

an advanced degree in a related field and six years relevant experience two of which must include experience conducting investigations into complaints and/or charges of discrimination, unlawful workplace harassment or retaliation and four of which includes professional experience working in the area of equal employment opportunity or affirmative action.

This classification performs work that requires maintaining confidentiality and is routinely privy to matters that either involves confidential information, sensitive personnel issues, or exposure to confidential and sensitive strategic corporate information.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
