As the Senior IT Communication Technician, you will focus on network security to install, configure, manage firewalls, virtual private networks, web protocols and application security for Corporate, ICS (Industrial Control Systems) and Video Surveillance networks. You will support, monitor, and make configuration changes for communications systems which include Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco routers and switches, F5 load balancers, Arista data center switches and Tempered HIP switches. You will collaborate with other technicians to assess procedures, such as change management, automation, and revision control. You will also aid in fixing network security issues of clients, suggest recommendations after researching best industry practices, creating documents for its configuration and installation. You will use your network security experience to support both Business and ICS/SCADA network systems. You will utilize your strong expertise in TCP/IP and VRF, VPN, BGP, along with other network routing protocols to manage wireless and LAN networks, including switches, routers, and other related equipment. In addition, you’ll identify and troubleshoot complex network problems affecting LAN, WAN, Internet connections, and issues of end users issues. You will also recommend, schedule, and conduct hardware and software enhancements, upgrades, reconfigurations, and patches, which will include coordination with engineering and business units to deploy/implement server systems that use best practices to meet the objectives of the organization.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience: High school diploma or Certificate of High School equivalency, six years of relevant experience, and completion of 60 semester units from an accredited college, university, vocational or military school.

Relevant Experience is defined as: experience working with high speed switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN technologies for network security and installations.
