Working closely with Operations and Maintenance Managers, the Planner Scheduler is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance work and projects performed in the Conveyance and Distribution Eastern Region Unit. Provides coordination between the operations and maintenance organizations; maintains appropriate records and files of completed and on-going maintenance work and projects. Interfaces on a daily basis with the maintenance managers and employees during the planning and scheduling of activities. Research and analyze a variety of issues in support of maintenance and operations and develop or prepare routine and ad-hoc reports. This position spends time each week at both the Lake Mathews facility and Diemer Water Treatment Plant.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: High school diploma or certificate of High School equivalency and five years journey-level experience in a relevant trade or craft.

Relevant trade or craft is defined as: work experience in a Public Utility such a Water Department, Conveyance & Distribution, Treatment Plant, Sewer, Gas, Electric, Oil, etc.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.

JOB-RELATED SELECTION CRITERIA
40% Technical knowledge/skills including: operations and maintenance planning/scheduling in the water treatment plant with an emphasis on preventative/predictive maintenance; managing and tracking work orders, back log, spare parts, and the maintenance history of plant equipment including related materials used and tasks performed; computerized maintenance management systems; work order process; Microsoft Word and Excel; and safety and environmental requirements.
