As the Designer III, you’ll be responsible for performing Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) design work in support of the core functions of designing new equipment and facilities and the retrofit of existing equipment and facilities. Basic knowledge of the Instrumentation and Control symbols and legends. Responsibilities include providing design layouts and preliminary and final Piping and Instrumentation Design drawings (P&ID's) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD's) for capital projects. You’ll utilize your working knowledge of Instrumentation and Controls design and drafting standards, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) methods and practices using OpenPlant PID and Microstation V8i; and familiarity with process piping systems and equipment layout. You’ll also be responsible for developing Piping and Instrumentation Diagram engineering drawings for capital projects. You will participate in field investigations and studies; prepare preliminary and final design drawings; generating reports pertaining to engineering projects using Microsoft Office.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: High school diploma or certificate of high school equivalency and two years of increasingly responsible, relevant experience; or one years of relevant experience and twelve quarter units or eight semester units from an accredited college, university, or vocational school.


Relevant Experience is defined as: experience with preparation and coordination of Piping and Instrumentation Design drawings (P&ID's) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD's) design drawings, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) methods and practices.


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
