The Assistant Resource Specialist II provides technical expertise in the specialized fields of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory analyses and reporting, Water-Energy Nexus evaluation and reporting, and the evaluation of renewable energy, energy storage and energy efficiency initiatives.

As an Assistant Resource Specialist II, you will assist in maintaining and updating Metropolitan’s GHG inventory database and record keeping system per California state requirements, assist in calculating and reporting Metropolitan’s GHG emissions to The Climate Registry and the California Air Resources Board, assist in calculating and reporting the GHG Intensity of Metropolitan’s Water Deliveries to TCR, maintain and update Metropolitan’s Master GHG Inventory Model in Excel, assist in the development and implementation of Metropolitan’s Energy Sustainability Plan, and review and analyze pending regulatory changes to GHG emissions and GHG intensity reporting requirements.

You will need to demonstrate excellent data management and analysis skills, communication skills, and written skills, and have the ability to problem solve, work independently and work in a team environment.

Schedule: 9/80, Monday through Friday with every other Friday off

The Assistant Resource Specialist II is part of the Facility Planning Unit in the Engineering Services Group at our Headquarters Building in Los Angeles.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience; or two years in an MWD Assistant Resource Specialist I classification.


Relevant Experience is defined as: two years of experience with GHG emissions analyses and reporting and/or GHG verification (at least one of these is required). Experience in evaluation of renewable energy, energy storage or energy efficiency projects is beneficial.


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this position may be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications, licensing and registrations:

License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent that allows you to drive during your employment is required at time of application
