This Engineering Project Manager is responsible for the project management of multiple capital and/or O&M projects in the Water Treatment area, providing project management expertise on engineering projects and ensuring that engineering service meets Metropolitan’s standards of quality, efficiency, and technical integrity.
As an Engineering Project Manager, the scope of responsibility includes the day-to-day management of all project activities as well as assisting or leading the preparation of project proposals; performing and/or directing planning and scoping studies; obtaining project funding and authorization through the Board letter/Board presentation process; monitoring and controlling project scope, progress, schedules and budgets; coordinating with internal and external customers; identifying and coordinating environmental assessments and documentation; preparing reports; utilizing standard Metropolitan software applications; providing regular input and updates to Metropolitan’s Capital Investment Plan; performing other initiatives related to project management or new project evaluation, as needed.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and six years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Associate Engineer level; OR Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Associate Engineer level.
Relevant Experience is defined as experience: Experience in, and thorough understanding of water treatment processes and applications, their operational characteristics and capabilities, and their design and construction. Experience performing project and/or design management duties in the selection, procurement, and installation of process equipment/facilities in the water industry.
Related fields of study include: Engineering degree in any of the following: Civil, Environmental, and/or Chemical.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s):
- Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
- License in good standing as a California (Civil, Environmental, or Chemical) Professional Engineer (Must have at time of application).
