Cascade Asset Management is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Compliance Coordinator.  This position may be seated in Madison, Wisconsin or Indianapolis, Indiana.  Cascade was formed in 1999 to provide comprehensive information technology equipment retirement services for businesses, institutions and municipalities. The company now operates full scale processing facilities in Wisconsin and Indiana and collects between 300 - 400 tons of computers, office electronics, consumer electronics and test equipment each month from sites across North America.  Cascade is a national leader in responsible IT Asset Retirement solutions for businesses and institutions across North America.

POSITION SUMMARY:   The Compliance Coordinator oversees Cascade’s environmental, health and safety compliance programs in order to meet regulatory, customer, external and internal demands and requirements across multiple facilities.  The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for the administration and monitoring of our EH&S compliance program, which includes industry standards established by e-Stewards and ISO 14001, as well as applicable regulatory requirements established by programs such as OSHA and other regulatory agencies.  

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
2+ years experience with project management in a role requiring high attention to detail and superb organizational skills
Demonstrated experience working effectively with all levels of staff within an organization
Methodical, disciplined worker who maintains meticulous records and has the ability to hold staff responsible to  meeting compliance standards
High integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to accountability
Prefer experience in a compliance field in a manufacturing or similar environment
Prefer experience with ISO 14001, environmental programs, or OSHA
Ability to facilitate improvement teams and create trust throughout the company
 Prefer experience establishing and tracking program metrics
Independent worker who is motivated to meet and exceed performance objectives and able to prioritize tasks
Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment and to multi-task effectively
Willingness and ability to travel for audits and reviews
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1.  Compliance Management (competencies include process and project management, results orientation, measuring work standards and metrics ):

Understand and monitor company compliance with industry and internal standards and external regulations such as e-Stewards, OSHA, DOT
Perform downstream vendor due diligence and onsite audits
 Oversee internal compliance investigations and present findings and recommendations to management
Maintain the corrective and preventative action reporting system and report on progress towards close out of all open items
Work with all departments to coordinate and audit compliance programs, including e-Stewards
Administer and monitor Cascade’s comprehensive compliance and continuous improvement program by working directly with all staff to ensure processes and systems are easily replicated across multiple locations
2.  Provide Leadership and Direction (competencies include collaboration, motivating others, assertiveness, consulting)

Develop and perform compliance training and ensure that all appropriate employees comply with standards
Work with teams as necessary to address barriers to compliance or process improvement success
Mentor all staff in achieving a more in-depth understanding and application of compliance, health, safety and environmental programs.
Provide expert advice to customers as a resource to the sales and marketing team.
 3.  Perform other duties as assigned
