TerraSond, a precision geospatial solutions provider, is seeking an Expeditor for its Corpus Christi, Texas operation. Under the direct supervision of the Equipment Coordinator, Project Managers or General Manager, the Expeditor is responsible for facilitating the delivery, storage, distribution, and maintenance of equipment and supplies in order to meet TerraSond’s needs. He or she maintains shop operating stock and updates inventory in Wisetrack., performs shipping and receiving, assists with vehicle, vessel and facilities maintenance, runs errands, washes and details vessels and vehicles, performs yard work and other housekeeping tasks to ensure that office and shop areas are safe, clean and organized. He or she will also help out on offshore projects as needed as a deckhand or operating small vessels (under 27’). The position requires one to be able to work long hours both locally and offshore with very little notice.
The position requires residence within a reasonable commuting distance from the Corpus Christi, Texas shop and does not include relocation.
Job Specifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of machines and tools to include proper selection and use, repair and maintenance
Demonstrate commitment to safety principles and protocols
Working knowledge of personal computers including word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to repeatedly lift 75 pounds and work on one’s feet through much of the day
Ability to launch and recovery of boats on company owned trailers; operate commercial vehicle with trailer
Required Background and Experience
Candidate must be legally eligible and insurable to drive to regular assignments
Two years of progressively responsible warehouse and maintenance experience to include working with an inventory database
Marine experience highly desirable
Tools and Equipment Used:
Standard office equipment including personal computer, telephone system, fax machine, copier, scanner and printers.
Various hand and power tools
Bar code readers
Certificates and Licenses Required:
High School diploma, GED or equivalent
Working knowledge of personal computers
Ability to pass a USCG Merchant Marine physical
Drug testing and background screen required
Eligible and insurable to drive to regular assignments
Work is performed in a number of locations including TerraSond’s office, shop, at sea, and various field locations. Some work is performed outdoors and may take place in inclement weather. Requires occasional heavy lifting of equipment (up to 50 pounds). Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, long days, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines.
