I am currently working at United Hospital as a scrub technician in the main OR. I am functioning as basically a catch-all person to do breaks,scrub in where needed,etc. At the DSC, I scrubbed in many different out-patient type procedures, ie; ENT,GYN,general (both pediatrics and adult),urology,pediatric opthalmology, ortho,and plastics.

This period of time covers when I did mostly traveling and per diem assignments.
I did 13 week assignments in Michigan, Ohio, lots of temporary/per diem in Minnesota, and one 13 week assignment in Owatonna. I felt I was an invaluable employee for the different agencies I worked for, and they all appreciated my experience and expertise.
I functioned quite well under lots of different types of facilities and circumstances.

I started out during this period of time at United Hospital, where I was hired to join the eye service. It was here that I received the most valuable experience that pertains to opthalmology. I scrubbed and set up virtually every kind of eye case, i.e.: cataract, retina, cornea, occularplastics, and trauma. In June of 2000, I was offered a position at Phillips Eye Institute, which I took,and remained there until February of 2004. Here I received even more in-depth eye experience in a fully-functioning eye hospital. I,too,scrubbed and set up many different eye cases,and felt I was a real team-player for this facility.
